Student Success Messaging: Informing & Engaging Students
A core component of my internship involved a large-scale student success messaging project. This initiative aimed to provide students with timely and relevant information about academic resources, campus support and success strategies. Throughout this campaign, we:
* Collaborated with 20+ campus partners to ensure student messaging was accurate and relevant.
* Developed copy for multiple platforms, including newsletters, flyers, digital screens and social media.
* Directed the artistic vision and messaging direction while creating a landing page for resources.
* Advocated for the student perspective to ensure messaging felt authentic and truly resonated.
This project required long-term strategic planning, creative execution and cross-campus collaboration, ultimately enhancing student engagement and access to academic support throughout the university.

Graphics & Flyers: Visual Communication for Impact
We worked directly with the Office of First-Generation Initiatives to refresh their branding and communications. The goal was to give First-Gen students and their families clear, welcoming information about resources available to them.
"Proud to be First-Gen" was created to normalize and destigmatize first-generation student status. This is a messaging theme I developed, and it remains a driving force in the office’s branding and outreach efforts.
"Navigating University Together" introduced a new webinar series for the office. I worked closely with our client to adjust the design based on feedback to create a final product that was visually engaging yet still aligned with their mission.
Columbia Missourian Advertisements: High-Impact Practices Outreach
To reach prospective and incoming students, we designed two print and digital advertisements for the Columbia Missourian’s College Town USA and Welcome Back to Campus editions. These materials were strategically created to introduce students to High-Impact Practices (HIPs)—such as study abroad, internships and service learning—which research has shown significantly improve student success and post-graduation outcomes.
Article Writing: Storytelling for Student Support
I wrote an article for the Center for Academic Success & Excellence (CASE), covering their annual Salute to Excellence event.
CASE has faced heightened scrutiny due to evolving sociopolitical shifts affecting DEI initiatives, both nationwide and within the university. I crafted an article that honored students and alumni authentically, ensuring their accomplishments remained the focus while still acknowledging the event’s broader significance of equity in higher education. All the while balancing university political shifts.

I used Adobe Creative Cloud to create engaging, high-quality content that aligned with Mizzou’s brand standards.
With InDesign, I designed flyers, brochures and digital signage with clear layouts and strong visual hierarchy.
Using Lightroom, I enhanced photography for marketing materials, ensuring a polished, professional look.
In Premiere Pro, I produced student success videos, incorporating closed captioning and smooth transitions.
In Photoshop, I refined graphics for social media and advertisements, balancing brand consistency with creativity.
These tools allowed me to develop visually compelling materials that supported student success initiatives.

I utilized Microsoft Office Suite to streamline workflows, enhance collaboration and create polished materials.
In Word, I drafted and formatted strategic copy, newsletters and written content with clarity and consistency.
Using Excel, I organized data, tracked engagement metrics, and created spreadsheets for project management.
With PowerPoint, I designed visually engaging decks that effectively communicated key messages to stakeholders.
Through Teams, I communicated with co-team members and collaborated with campus partners.
These platforms allowed me to work efficiently, stay organized and execute strategic initiatives with precision.
